Conservation Levy On 1st November 2003, KZNW introduced a new conservation levy to the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Reserve. This levy is essential in the fight against chromalena, poaching, and to support the wild dog project, and many other activities that preserve the wildlife heritage of these parks for future generations.
Please Note South African residents and citizens are only eligible for discount due to the fact that a portion of their annual taxes already support the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. The Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve is partly publicly funded.
- Conservation Levy is charged per person per day and has replaced the vehicle entry fee.
- Children under 3 years no charge.
- South African and SADC residents who provide proof of identity may apply for discounts on this fee, and will be charged 50% per person per day.
- ID books will be required as proof of residency.
- Please understand that it is impossible to establish guests nationalities until ID or Passport is physically presented.
- If you are a South African or SADC citizen, please fax us a copy of citizenship and we will be happy to amend your Invoice.
- If you don't fax a copy of ID or proof of residency, you will be charged the full International conservation levy.
- If you have paid the full international levy and you are eligible for discount, show proof of residency at camps reception on arrival, and request a refund. The refund is usually sent by central reservations and not necessarily paid by the camps. This option can take some time before cheque is received.
